Description

Each SUPER ROYAL JELLY NPcaps provides 400 mg of Royal Jelly 15:1 concentrate (equivalent to 6000 mg of fresh Royal Jelly), standardized to contain 30% 10-hydroxy-2-decenoic acid (10-2 HDA), a long-chain carboxylic acid of the steroid group. 10-hydroxy acids occur in the royal jelly of nurse bees (Apis mellifera). Trans 10-hydroxy-2-decenoic acid is considered as the genuine fatty compound of royal jelly (about 50 % of the total fatty acids). Other hydroxylated fatty acids (10-hydroxydecanoic acid and 9-hydroxy-2-decenoic acid) were also detected. These components are said to give specific therapeutic properties to royal jelly such as skin protection, anti-inflammatory action and anti-cancer activities (1).

Fresh Royal Jelly contains about 2% trans-10-hydroxy delta-2-decanoic acid (HDA) by weight. HDA is a monounsaturated fatty acid with a hydroxl group. Hydroxy fatty acids protect skin from dehydration and some are strongly anti-inflammatory. HDA may also be anti-inflammatory (2). SUPER ROYAL JELLY is standardized to contain 30% HDA, up to 15 times more potent than fresh Royal Jelly.

Royal Jelly is a thick, creamy fluid synthesized in nurse bees' bodies during digestion of bee pollen and secreted from glands in their heads. All larvae are fed Royal Jelly for three days, but the Queen bee eats Royal Jelly exclusively, which makes her fertile and able to live for five to seven years. In contrast, worker bees are sterile and live just seven to eight weeks. 10-2 HDA, thought to be the principle active substance in Royal Jelly, makes the Queen Bee 50% larger than the other female worker bees and gives her incredible stamina, ovulation ability and longevity, living 4-5 years longer than worker bees who only live 40 days.

Royal Jelly is a rich source of complete protein, containing all the essential amino acids, as well as essential fatty acids, minerals and vitamins, particularly pantothenic acid (B-5) and pyridoxine (B-6). Royal Jelly also contains collagen; lecithin; and vitamins A, C, D and E, all of which benefit the skin (3). Concentrated Royal Jelly moisturizes dry skin and soothes dermatitis (4, 5). Additionally, Royal Jelly contains several other compounds that help lower cholesterol. A review of controlled studies concluded that in humans, 50 to 100 mg Royal Jelly per day decreased total cholesterol by 14 percent and triglycerides by 10 percent (6). Royal Jelly at a dose of 15-mg/kg body weight, slowed the development of atherosclerosis in rabbits fed high-fat diets (7).

In June 1997, Scientists at the Beijing Medical University reported that when freeze dried Royal Jelly (3 g, twice a day) was administered to a group of 90 Neurasthenia patients (35 male and 35 female) for three months, all patients reported very effective (86%) or effective (14%) improvement. Somnipathy is eliminated, quality of sleeping is increased; headache and dizziness are obviously alleviated; physical and mental abilities, appetite, and working efficiency is increased.

In 1999, researchers at the USDA/University of Arizona in Tucson discovered genes that respond to a 24-hour Royal Jelly diet--the process that turns ordinary bee larva into queen bees. At Northern Ohio University in Ada, rats fed only raw bee pollen granules were healthier and leaner than those fed standard rat chow.

10-Hydroxy-2-Decenoic Acid (10-HDA) is a kind of natural unsaturated fatty acid, which possesses strong inhibition to the growth of cancer cells, namely transferable AKR leukaemia, TA3 breast cancer etc. Recent studies show that 10-HDA possesses the effect of immuno-regulation and anti-cancer activities. It can promote the growth of T-lymphocyte subsets, Interleukin-2 and the generation of Tumor necrosis factor. 10-HDA is of significant value in medical and health care domains.

The molecular formula of 10-HDA is as follows:

HO-CH2-(CH2)6-CH=CH-COOH (C10H18O3)

Royal Jelly's strong cancer fighting properties were first witnessed by a study published in Nature in May 1959, entitled "Activity of 10 Hydroxy-2-Decenoic Acid From Royal Jelly Against Experimental Leukaemia and Ascitic Tumours.

The study was a joint effort of three prestigious Canadian facilities: the Ontario Agricultural College in Guelph, the Department of National Health and Welfare in Ottawa, and the University of Toronto. The research was part of a long-term Canadian study on the chemistry and biological activity of Royal Jelly. In this experiment, the scientists mixed Royal Jelly with active tumour cells taken from cancerous mice. They report that an injection of the mixture suppressed mouse leukaemia and inhibited the formation of tumours. Here's how these Canadian scientists evaluated the results:

"The criterion we used in these experiments was survival. The mice either developed leukaemia or tumours or were fully protected. Control mice died from ascitic tumours in less than 14 days, while mice receiving appropriate mixtures of cells and Royal Jelly all failed to develop tumours. Protected mice were kept under observation for 90 days after death of the control mice. They were then sacrificed and autopsied to confirm the absence of tumours."

These results have been confirmed repeatedly on nearly 1000 mice during a two-year period and show a striking effect: either all the mice die quickly, or all survive. Two groups of mice which received tumour cells plus Royal Jelly remained alive and healthy more than 12 months after inoculation, while sister mice which received the same number of tumour cells without Royal Jelly died within 12 days.

In other words, the Canadian scientists came up with a vaccine that protects mice against leukaemia and the subsequent development of related tumours.

Enerex SUPER ROYAL JELLY provides the highest potency product available. Each NPcap contains 400 mg of freeze dried Royal Jelly 15:1 concentrate, equivalent to 6000 mg of fresh Royal Jelly, providing 120 mg (30%) of 10-2 HDA (the ingredient most responsible for Royal Jelly's activity). Most Royal Jelly concentrates contain only 4% or 5% 10-2 HDA. Enerex’s Super Royal Jelly formula provides the widely recognized benefits of this 'Superfood' in one convenient dose and should be of particular benefit to athletes and physically active people.
