Description

Enerex uses GARLITECH® exclusively in its GARLIC Rx odourless garlic formula. Starting with Nature's most potent fresh garlic, GARLITECH® cloves are hand-selected from the Celestial Mountains of China , home of the world's most potent garlic for over 3000 years. The cloves are hand-sorted, hand-peeled and hand-washed to avoid bruising or crushing the cloves.

Using state-of-the-art equipment and a unique proprietary process, GARLITECH® garlic is milled, freeze-dried and packaged in an ISO 9002 factory. The result is a natural, concentrated, preservative and solvent-free garlic powder with the world's highest allicin potential!

Each batch of GARLITECH® powder is rigorously tested for active ingredients before, during and after processing. Then an independent U.S. laboratory re-tests and verifies the purity, consistency, and superiority. GARLITECH® products are continually monitored to verify the stability of active ingredients.

ODOUR-FREE

But the final secret of GARLIC Rx is the targeted delivery system: GARLIC Rx tablets are manufactured with an exclusive enteric coating (the tablets are absorbed in the small intestine, not in the stomach), which delivers the maximum benefit of high-allicin garlic without odor or stomach upset. A US laboratory tests each batch of GARLITECH® powder to confirm the allicin potency and release.

HISTORIC BACKGROUND

There are indications that garlic (Allium sativum L.) was known and used in Neolithic times. Garlic has definitely been used as both food and medicine for as long as humans have recorded history. Along with ginger, no plant has been used by more cultures on more continents for such a long time. It appears in ancient texts from Egypt , Sumeria , India and China . It has not always been embraced with open arms due to its odiferous nature, but as an important medicine and food it has stood the test of time.

Garlic is in the Lily family, Liliaceae. Its common name is likely related to the Anglo Saxon "garleac" which meant spear plant. Although there are many different wild Allium species which have been used by humans, garlic is not presently known in the wild. Its origins are in Central Asia, and it has been cultivated in the Middle East for at least 5,000 years. In Biblical times, Jewish tribes used garlic for indigestion, as a diuretic, spasmolytic and an aphrodisiac. The Persian cultures knew both wild and cultivated garlic and used it for treatment of worms, snake bites, skin rashes, dentistry, eye diseases, menstrual abnormalities, vermin control and even in veterinary medicine. Over time use of garlic expanded. The Greeks and Romans used it for many of the conditions listed above plus as a laxative, against pneumonia, for edemic conditions, and externally against scabies, to heal putrid wounds and hemorrhoids.

In much of Europe garlic was originally unknown. The Romans, whose legions ate it for strength and courage as well as using it medicinally, probably introduced it. In the Medieval period its use flourished as a valuable aid against the plague and other contagious diseases. The great physician and herbalist Paracelsus prescribed it for plague, as an expectorant, diuretic, aid to childbirth and to heal prolapsed rectum and abscesses. Other maladies it came to be used for include jaundice conditions, an antidote to poisons of various types and for treatment of dandruff, lice and nits. In the 18th and 19th centuries, maladies added to list for which garlic was a remedy included scurvy and asthmatic conditions. Finally, in 1858 Louis Pasteur confirmed garlic's potent antibacterial effects.

Current studies indicate that a truly effective garlic product must deliver a minimum equivalence of four grams of fresh garlic, or a 'total allicin potential (TAP)' of at least 4,000 micrograms per day. GARLIC Rx tablets provide a minimum of 4,000 mcg (4 mg) per enteric coated tablet. GARLITECH® powder is produced under strict cGMPs in an ISO9002 certified factory in China . Quality is assured by third party independent laboratory analysis on each batch. If you want the best garlic product, then GARLIC Rx is the answer.

It is the end-product of this chemical cascade which accounts for most of garlic's potent medicinal effects. Garlic's sulfur compounds contain structures typical of major enzymes and hormones which regulate body function. One common thread among these compounds is that they act upon prostaglandins, fatty acids in the body that regulate blood pressure, metabolism, temperature, fertility and cell division.

CHEMICAL CONSTITUENTS

The constituents in garlic that are of primary interest in research and clinical applications are garlic's sulfur compounds. Garlic contains an unusually high amount of sulfur compounds compared to other plants and these compounds and their reaction products are its most active constituents. Garlic's total sulfur content is close to 1% of its dry weight. It is interesting to note that the most important active compound, allicin, is not actually present in fresh garlic. Allicin is relatively unstable, and is produced by a cascade of chemical reactions that take place when fresh garlic is cut or crushed (See figure above). Due to allicin's inherent instability, proprietary manufacturing technology carefully preserves garlic's potential to produce allicin in the body, more specifically in the small intestine. Therefore, the "total allicin potential (TAP®)" of GARLIC Rx is the critical measure of quality.

Cardiovascular Support

A healthy heart, a healthy life. Garlic has been used for centuries to support a healthy cardiovascular system. Garlic contains the chemicals alliin and allinase. These two chemicals combine to produce allicin - the active ingredient in garlic which most scientists believe is responsible for providing this important support for cardiovascular health.*

World Leader in Product Potency

Allicin yield - the amount of allicin that can be produced when the alliin and allinase in garlic combine - is an important measure of garlic's potency and effectiveness. Specially grown in rich fertile soils, the garlic (GARLITECH®) used in Garlic Rx has the very highest allicin yield. It is processed with extreme care and attention, guaranteeing that the potency is preserved as it is ground into a fine ivory white powder. Independent laboratory testing proves that each Garlic Rx tablet yields at least 4000 mcg of allicin.

Odour-Free

Garlic Rx tablets are enteric coated (absorbed in the small intestine, not in the stomach) odour-free, tasteless, easy to swallow and easy to digest. Garlic Rx has none of the unsocial qualities associated with fresh garlic cloves.

Garlic Rx tablets are so convenient - you take only one tablet per day to support cardiovascular health.*
